Star Indian batsman Nitish Rana is all set to return to his home state Delhi for the 2025-26 domestic season. He is making a comeback after playing for Uttar Pradesh. He last represented UP in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December.

Let us tell you that Nitish Rana moved from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh in 2023. He led UP that season, but they could only finish sixth among the eight teams in their group. Nitish Rana scored 297 runs in six matches that season, including a century, at an average of 37.12.
A source close to the matter told the Times of India, ‘This is not a dump station. When he asked for an NOC in 2023, we requested him to play and stay for Delhi. He has to make his own place. There is no guarantee that he will get a chance immediately.

His coach Sanjay Bhardwaj told the Times of India that apna ghar toh apna hi hota hai. Yes, he will play for Delhi this season. I had told him even then not to go out. He did not have a good season with Uttar Pradesh.
Bhardwaj further said that as a professional cricketer, there is a lot of pressure on you. Returning to Delhi is a wise decision for him. He has played all his cricket here, right from the age-group level till now.
The left-handed cricketer played just two List A games in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, in which he scored just 17 runs. He was then dropped from the team. He had to be dropped from the Ranji Trophy team after a string of low scores.
However, it is not sure if his return will get him a place in the Delhi team, but he will be a part of the second season of the Delhi Premier League. This time eight franchise teams will participate in the Delhi Premier League.
