India will kick off their ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 campaign against Sri Lanka. On Monday, June 16th, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the full schedule for the tournament, which will be hosted in India. However, the Pakistan women’s team will play all their matches in Sri Lanka.
ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: The tournament starts on September 30th with India facing Sri Lanka in the opening match. The competition will run for about a month, culminating in the final on November 2nd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru—unless Pakistan qualify for the final, in which case it will be held in Colombo.
As hosts, the Indian women’s team enters the World Cup as one of the favorites. With the home crowd behind them, expectations will be high for Harmanpreet Kaur and her squad to deliver a memorable performance and aim for the trophy.
ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Following their opener against Sri Lanka, India will face their arch-rivals Pakistan in their second match, which will take place in Colombo. After that, the team will return to India and travel to Vishakapatnam to compete against South Africa and Australia in their third and fourth matches.
The Indian side will then take on England in Indore. Their final two group stage games will be against New Zealand in Guwahati and Bangladesh in Bengaluru. If they advance, India will contest the semi-finals scheduled for October 29th and 30th.
