Nat Sciver-Brunt

Nat Sciver-Brunt: Now Tammy Beaumont will captain England in the remaining matches of this series.

In the five-match T20 series between England Women vs India Women’s Cricket Team held in England, host team captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the remaining 2 matches due to injury. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the captain’s injury and said that Nat Sciver-Brunt has suffered a groin injury (thigh muscle strain) during the series itself.

Due to this she will not be able to participate in the remaining matches. However, the board has expressed hope that she will be fully healthy by the upcoming ODI series. The ODI series will start from July 16.

Nat Sciver-Brunt: Tammy Beaumont will take over

Due to the injury of Nat Sciver-Brunt, Tammy Beaumont has now been given the captaincy for the remaining matches. Along with this, Maya Boushear has been included in the playing eleven in place of the former captain. Boushear is known for her aggressive batting, and she can be helpful in strengthening the middle order of the English team and accelerating the runs.

England will definitely miss their regular captain in the T20 series. She contributed 66 runs and 13 runs respectively in the first two matches, as well as her all-rounder ability has also been an important part of the host team’s strategy.

India leads 2-1

At present, India is leading England 2-1 in this series. Indian player Smriti Mandhana gave India a good start by performing strongly. However, England has shown its hopes of staying in the series by making a good comeback in the third T20 match.

The fourth match of this series will be played in Manchester on July 9, while the final match is to be held in Birmingham on July 12. England’s new captain Beaumont believes that the team has to keep the spirits up in this challenging time.

Beaumont made a big statement while talking to ICC

While talking to ICC, Beaumont said- ‘We have to come out of this difficult time as a team, because neither did we want to see our captain and best batsman injured, nor did we want to be behind in the series by 2-0. It would be the worst if we panic at this time. We have to respond positively under the circumstances.’
