Asia Cup: Against Hong Kong in their second game, Sri Lanka again chose to bowl first, limiting the opposition to 149/4. Anshuman Rath (48) and Nizakat Khan (50*) starred for Hong Kong, but Sri Lanka’s chase was led by Pathum Nissanka’s 68 runs, supported by Kusal Perera and Wanindu Hasaranga, who contributed 20 runs each, securing a four-wicket victory.
How Can Sri Lanka Qualify for the Super Four in Asia Cup 2025?
Sri Lanka currently top Group B with four points from two matches and a healthy net run rate of +1.546. Asia Cup, A win against Afghanistan would make their path straightforward—they would finish on six points, secure the top spot in the group, and advance to the Super Four stage.
Asia Cup: Bangladesh, despite a lower net run rate, would claim the second qualifying spot from the group with four points. Afghanistan, on the other hand, would exit the tournament with just two points.
