Jhulan Goswami Appreciates ICC’s Record Prize Money for Women’s World Cup 2025
Former Indian women’s cricket star Jhulan Goswami has expressed her gratitude to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the significant increase in prize money for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The ICC has announced a total prize pool of USD 13.88 million for the tournament.
This marks a massive 297% jump compared to the 2022 edition and even surpasses the prize pool of the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup, which stood at USD 10 million.
Under the new structure, the champions of the Women’s World Cup 2025 will receive USD 4.48 million, while the runners-up will earn USD 2.24 million. Each semi-finalist will pocket USD 1.12 million, and every participating team is guaranteed USD 250,000.

During an ICC review, Jhulan Goswami expressed her excitement after learning about the prize money for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. She believes the move will significantly boost women’s cricket globally.
“I’m getting goosebumps. The increased prize money is fantastic, and I sincerely thank the ICC for this initiative. The way they’ve approached it, I’m sure women’s cricket will see tremendous growth,” she said.
Jhulan also highlighted the impact on aspiring cricketers and their families: “For young women cricketers and their parents, this is reassuring. It shows that cricket can be pursued professionally, and it can be taken forward as a career. This is excellent news for the sport and will definitely motivate players across the board.”
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is set to begin on September 30, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Eight teams—India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, England, and South Africa—will compete for the prestigious title.
