Pakistan Champions will continue to participate in the World Championship of Legends (WCL)2025 despite the cancellation of their fixture against India Champions.
India vs Pakistan Clash Cancelled Amid Public Outrage in WCL 2025

The much-anticipated match between India Champions and Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 was cancelled on Sunday following public backlash. Fans on social media expressed strong displeasure over former Indian cricketers participating against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack. The game, scheduled for July 20 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, was called off due to widespread criticism.
Following the cancellation, uncertainty loomed over Pakistan’s participation in the tournament. However, Pakistan Champions owner Kamil Khan confirmed that the T20 event would proceed as planned, with the schedule remaining unchanged.
Khan also shed light on the knockout stage arrangements, stating that the tournament final is set for August 2, 2025. He mentioned that if India and Pakistan face each other in the semi-finals, the match would be “avoided.”
“All the remaining matches are taking place. The tournament is going on as per schedule, and there are no changes,” GeoNews quoted Kamil Khan. “As for the semifinals and final, we’re currently saying that if we make it to the semifinals, there will be four teams, and we will avoid matches between the two teams,” he added.
When asked about a potential India-Pakistan final, Khan refrained from giving a clear response, saying, “If we reach the final, then the decisions regarding that will be made then.”
‘Two points will be awarded to us’

Pakistan Champions owner Kamil Khan confirmed that his team would be awarded two points following the cancellation of their fixture against India Champions.
“And as for this match, the two points will be awarded to us, and we deserve those points as per the rules,” he stated.
Earlier, several former Indian cricketers, including Harbhajan Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, and Shikhar Dhawan, withdrew from the match against Pakistan. Dhawan revealed that he had informed the organisers of his decision on May 11.
Amid multiple player pullouts and mounting public outrage, the organisers were compelled to call off the high-profile clash. In an official statement, the WCL clarified that the match was scheduled only after learning that the Pakistan hockey team would be touring India.
The WCL 2025 tournament began last week with an opening clash between Pakistan and England Champions. The inaugural edition of the tournament saw India Champions lift the trophy after defeating Pakistan in the final.
