Ravi Shastri reveals how KL Rahul has made changes in his batting technique

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has shared insights into the changes KL Rahul has made to his batting technique. Speaking on The ICC Review, Ravi Shastri praised Rahul’s outstanding form in the ongoing series.
“There wasn’t a single person who doubted his talent,” Ravi Shastri said. “What frustrated people was that despite his ability, he wasn’t performing consistently. But in this series, we’re witnessing the best version of Rahul.”
Ravi Shastri explained, “He’s made a subtle adjustment with his front foot and stance, especially while defending. He’s opening up slightly, which allows his back to come through more cleanly. Even when he plays shots towards mid-wicket, he’s using the full face of the bat.”
He added, “He no longer needs to close the bat face and fall over, which used to cause problems for him. Earlier, he would get out leg before wicket or bowled because he was overreaching and losing balance. Those issues have reduced now.”
Meanwhile, India is preparing for the fourth Test of the series against England, starting July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. England currently leads the five-match series 2-1, having won the third Test at Lord’s by 22 runs.
Ravi Shastri, India will be looking to bounce back in the fourth Test, needing a win to keep their hopes of winning the series alive. Historically, India has never won a Test match in Manchester; out of nine Tests played there, England has won four and five ended in draws.
