The ICC has updated Virat Kohli’s highest-ever T20I rating to 909 points. This makes Kohli the first player to surpass 900 rating points in all three formats. His best Test and ODI ratings are 937 and 911, respectively.
Kohli has retired from both Test and T20I cricket. He announced his retirement from T20Is after India’s victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, and stepped away from Tests ahead of the 2025 England tour. He now plays only ODIs.
In the latest ICC ODI rankings, Virat Kohli is ranked fourth among batters with 736 points. Most recently, he played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who clinched the IPL 2025 title against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

ICC: Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket as India’s fourth-highest run-scorer.

The 36-year-old announced his retirement in May 2025, just days after Rohit Sharma stepped down from Tests. Virat Kohli represented India in 123 Tests between 2011 and 2025, amassing 9,230 runs in 210 innings at an average of 46.85.
ICC: The right-hander notched up 31 fifties, 30 centuries, and seven double centuries during his Test career, ranking behind only Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar in Test runs for India. Virat Kohli will next be seen in action during the white-ball series against Australia in October.
India is scheduled to tour Australia for three ODIs and five T20Is, and Virat Kohli is expected to feature in the squad. Rohit Sharma currently leads the ODI side.
