Heinrich Klaasen Shines as SRH Crush KKR with Record-Breaking Performance

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Heinrich Klaasen praised the franchise for its significant investment and long-term commitment to the Indian Premier League (IPL), acknowledging their support after a stellar performance in the final stages of the tournament. “As I said earlier, the franchise has invested a lot of money, they have been here for 12-13 years. We played brilliant cricket in the last three games, they gave us an incredible holiday and thanks to them,” Klaasen said during the post-match presentation.
Heinrich Klaasen played a sensational innings, scoring 105 off just 39 balls, including seven fours and nine sixes, to help SRH post a massive 278/3 in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 68 of the IPL at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This is now the third-highest team total in IPL history. Travis Head also contributed with a crucial fifty.
Heinrich Klaasen innings earned him the Player of the Match award, and he also recorded the fastest century of the ongoing season, reaching the milestone in just 37 balls.
KKR, on the other hand, had a forgettable outing as they failed to chase down the target of 279 and suffered a crushing 110-run defeat.
Heinrich Klaasen shared his pride in the team’s performance, highlighting how they finally built on a strong start—something they had struggled with in the past.
“We take a lot of pride in this. We’ve had many good starts but couldn’t convert them—today I managed to. That’s usually the plan on this wicket. The straight boundaries are short, while the others are around 50 to 60 metres. I focused on playing straight and avoided challenging too many fielders, and I’m happy with that,” he said.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling effort was spearheaded by a potent trio—Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey—each claiming three wickets to tear through KKR’s batting order.
