IPL 2025 Closing Ceremony to Honor Indian Armed Forces

The BCCI will pay a special tribute to the Indian Armed Forces during the IPL 2025 closing ceremony at Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3. This tribute follows the success of Operation Sindoor, where the Armed Forces dismantled terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the ceremony’s focus on honoring the military’s bravery and service. Invitations have been sent to the top military chiefs, including the Chief of Defence Staff and heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The event will feature military band performances alongside musical acts by prominent singers, creating a memorable evening ahead of the IPL grand finale.
When the IPL had to be stalled

The IPL 2025 season was suspended for a week due to escalating India-Pakistan border tensions following a terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 tourists. The tournament resumed after a ceasefire, with the BCCI honoring the Indian Armed Forces as players sang the national anthem and “Thank you, armed forces” messages appeared on screens. The BCCI had previously paid tribute to the military in 2019 and pledged Rs. 20 crore for their welfare after the Pulwama attack.
