Vaibhav Suryavanshi Faces Fake Profile Chaos After Record-Breaking IPL Performance

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s incredible IPL debut, where he became the youngest and fastest Indian to score a century in the history of the tournament at just 14, brought him well-deserved fame and recognition. His explosive 101 off 38 balls against Gujarat Titans was a performance that left the cricket world in awe. However, with his newfound stardom came unwanted attention in the form of a fake social media profile.
A profile with the handle @VaibhavOfficia, named “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi,” emerged on social media, using Vaibhav’s image in his Rajasthan Royals (RR) uniform. The profile also featured a cover photo of him in his India U19 whites. This fake account quickly gained traction, sharing posts from the official RR handle and reposting content to falsely suggest it was being run by the young cricketer himself.
The most alarming instance came when the fake profile responded to a tweet from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar had praised Vaibhav’s blistering century, calling it a combination of fearless batting and perfect technique. In response, the fake profile thanked Tendulkar, claiming, “It’s been a dream to earn a compliment from someone I’ve admired. Grateful beyond words.”
The incident highlights the challenges young stars like Vaibhav face with their rising fame and the need for vigilance in the digital world, as such impersonation can mislead followers and tarnish reputations.
Thank you so much Sir. It’s been a dream to earn a compliment from someone I’ve admired. Grateful beyond words 🙏 https://t.co/cAaVK3YAHD

After Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record-breaking IPL performance, a fake social media profile impersonated the 14-year-old cricket sensation, causing confusion and garnering significant attention. The fake account, named “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi” with the handle @VaibhavOfficia, used Vaibhav’s photographs and claimed to be run by the young cricketer himself. The account gained a lot of engagement, particularly after responding to a tweet from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who had praised Vaibhav’s explosive century.
The tweet quickly gained 55,000 likes and more than 4,000 reposts, misleading many users into believing the interaction was genuine. X, the social media platform, took swift action after the fake profile gained such widespread attention. They identified three key signs of the account being fraudulent:
- The account was not followed by Rajasthan Royals, who follow all their players.
- Professional accounts avoid names like “Officia” in their handles.
- The profile’s activity, including tweets and replies, originated only on April 28, suggesting it was created solely to farm engagement.
The account was suspended shortly after, but the impostor quickly resurfaced by creating a new profile under the handle @Vaibhavsooryava. While the reply to Tendulkar’s tweet was removed, the fake posts continued. It’s only a matter of time before this new profile is also suspended by X.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi steals the show

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history on Monday by becoming the youngest centurion in men’s Twenty20 cricket. The 14-year-old left-hander guided Rajasthan Royals to an eight-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans with a blistering knock of 101 runs off just 38 balls. His explosive innings, which included 11 sixes and seven fours, helped RR chase down a 209-run target in just 15.5 overs.
Suryavanshi reached his century in a remarkable 35 balls, securing the second-fastest century in IPL history. His partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, which totaled 166 runs, was a key highlight of the match. “It is a very good feeling. It’s my first hundred in the IPL and it’s my third innings. The result has shown here after the practice before the tournament,” said Suryavanshi, who was named Player of the Match.
Suryavanshi’s century also became the quickest by an Indian in IPL history, surpassing Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball century for Rajasthan against Mumbai Indians in 2010.
