The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, praised the Indian Cricket Team following their sensational victory in the Asia Cup 2025. Reacting to India’s win over arch-rivals Pakistan in the final, he remarked that whether it’s Operation Sindoor or a cricket match, the result is always the same – India emerging victorious.
Under the guidance of head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team completed the Asia Cup 2025 campaign undefeated. The triumph was made even more special as India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in a thrilling summit clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, 28th September.
Narendra Modi: The final lived up to its hype, going down to the wire. Pakistan, batting first, seemed set for a big total as Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners, putting together an 84-run opening stand. However, the tide turned thanks to India’s spin attack. Kuldeep Yadav claimed four crucial wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel picked up two each, reducing Pakistan to 146 all out. Jasprit Bumrah also contributed with two wickets as the Salman Agha-led side lost their last nine wickets for just 33 runs.
India’s chase got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets for just 20 runs. But Tilak Varma rose to the occasion, playing the innings of his career with an unbeaten 69*. He received valuable support from Sanju Samson (23) and Shivam Dube (33), forging crucial 50+ run partnerships. Thanks to the heroics of the trio, India sealed a magical win, claiming their ninth Asia Cup title.
