One of the victims speaking out alleges that the cricketer assaulted her on March 3, 2023, at a house in New Amsterdam, Berbice, when she was just 18.
West Indies Cricketer Faces Multiple Allegations of Sexual Assault and Harassment

A current West Indies international cricketer has been accused by at least 11 women—including an 18-year-old teenager—of rape, sexual assault, harassment, and unwanted advances, according to a June 27 report by Kaieteur News in Guyana. One victim alleges that on March 3, 2023, the cricketer assaulted her at a house in New Amsterdam, Berbice, after misleading her into socializing. The family claims he forcibly raped her upstairs and accuses his entourage and local law enforcement of trying to suppress the case.
Since the initial report, more women have come forward, providing evidence such as screenshots, voice notes, medical reports, and messages detailing repeated assaults and alleged cover-ups. One survivor revealed the cricketer offered money to settle the matter, but the family refused, demanding justice instead. Despite these serious accusations, no formal charges have been filed so far.
Lawyer Nigel Hughes, representing one complainant, said initial complaints were made nearly two years ago, leading to an investigation and a prosecutor’s recommendation to file charges. However, the case then seemingly disappeared from public view. Hughes added that renewed inquiries as recent as June 25–26, 2025, have produced no updates, with victims frustrated by repeated questioning and delays.
Multiple reports accuse Guyanese law enforcement of stonewalling and suppressing complaints, allegedly under pressure from influential figures connected to the cricketer’s family. The cricketer was also reportedly arrested in connection to a separate sexual assault allegation involving a teenage relative but the case was closed after the victim withdrew her statement and no charges were pressed.
West Indies Cricketer Welcomed as Hero Amid Unfolding Allegations

The cricketer, a key member of the West Indies squad that achieved a historic win over Australia at the Gabba in January 2024, was greeted with a hero’s welcome upon returning to Guyana—despite ongoing allegations against him.
These accusations surfaced publicly during the current Test series against Australia, intensifying scrutiny on cricket’s governing bodies.
When approached by SportsMax TV, Cricket West Indies (CWI) responded:
Despite widespread media reports, CWI maintains it has not received any official notification or documentation from Guyanese authorities regarding the matter.
