Mukesh Kumar’s Cryptic ‘Karma’ Post Sparks Speculation After Harshit Rana’s Test Call-Up

Team India fast bowler Mukesh Kumar posted a cryptic message about ‘karma’ on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, stirring social media speculation. Mukesh, part of the India A squad touring England, played the first multi-day match against England Lions and recorded the best bowling figures for his side, taking three wickets for 92 runs.
Despite this, Mukesh did not feature in the second tour game and was left out of India’s 18-member Test squad for the five-match series. Meanwhile, fellow India A teammate Harshit Rana was added as the 19th member of the Test squad on Tuesday.

Harshit Rana, like Mukesh Kumar, played only in the first India A match during the England tour, claiming one wicket. However, Rana has recent Test experience from India’s previous series against Australia Down Under and has represented India in both white-ball formats. Mukesh last featured for India in July 2024 during the T20I series against Zimbabwe.
Rana’s inclusion strengthens India’s pace attack for the England tour, joining established fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, along with Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur, and newcomer Arshdeep Singh. Nitish Kumar Reddy also adds depth to the pace options. Notably, Mohammed Shami will miss the series.
On the spin front, Kuldeep Yadav leads the attack, supported by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
