Smriti Mandhana achieved a remarkable milestone during India Women\u2019s clash against South Africa in the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2025.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although she has struggled to convert starts in the ongoing tournament, Mandhana has been one of the most consistent performers in Women\u2019s ODIs this year. The left-handed opener has already scored three centuries and four half-centuries in 50-over cricket in 2025, amassing over 950 runs at an impressive average of more than 57.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to the World Cup, Mandhana was in sensational form during the three-match WODI series against Australia Women last month. She scored two centuries and one fifty in the series, accumulating 300 runs at an astonishing average of 100, and was named Player of the Series despite India Women losing 2-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the current ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2025, Mandhana has struggled to replicate that form, posting scores of 8, 23, and 23 in her first three matches. Nevertheless, her consistent performances in Women\u2019s ODIs have helped her achieve a remarkable record this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In India Women\u2019s third match of the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2025 against South Africa on Thursday, October 9, Smriti Mandhana scored 23 runs<\/a>. But the milestone of the day was Mandhana breaking the record for the most runs in a single calendar year in Women\u2019s ODI cricket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandhana has amassed 982 runs across 17 WODIs in 2025, surpassing the previous record of 970 runs set by Australia\u2019s Belinda Clark in 1997. Following Mandhana, the top batters with the most WODI runs in a calendar year include Laura Wolvaardt, Debbie Hockley, and Amy Satterthwaite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
