After the comprehensive victory, Indian captain Shubman Gill described it as a perfect game, highlighting the team\u2019s excellence in batting, bowling, and fielding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Indies skipper Roston Chase won the toss and chose to bat first\u2014a decision that backfired as his team was bowled out for just 162 in their opening innings. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah shared seven wickets between them, while Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar also contributed with crucial breakthroughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For India, KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Ravindra Jadeja (104*) scored centuries to propel the team to 448\/5 before declaring. With a first-innings lead of 286 runs, India established a commanding position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India\u2019s captain Shubman Gill described the team\u2019s performance as flawless following their victory against the West Indies in the opening Test. <\/a>Despite losing the toss for the sixth consecutive time as a Test captain, Shubman Gill said it didn\u2019t bother him as long as the team continued winning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSix toss losses in a row, but as long as we keep winning, it doesn\u2019t matter. This was a perfect game for us\u2014three centurions, excellent fielding, no complaints. Both of us got starts but couldn\u2019t convert, yet plenty of others did, and I\u2019m happy for them,\u201d Shubman Gill said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on India\u2019s bowling strength, he added, \u201cWith quality spinners like ours, rotating the attack is always a challenge, but it\u2019s better to have many options than too few. That\u2019s the fun of playing in India. There\u2019s always someone ready to step up and get the job done. Our team is young, and they came out with flying colours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about his learnings as captain so far, Shubman Gill emphasized the team\u2019s resilience. \u201cSo many things. It\u2019s hard to pick just one or two, but over the past two years, seeing how we\u2019ve bonded and managed tough situations has been very satisfying. We\u2019re still a learning side, and as long as we continue learning from our experiences, I believe we\u2019ll stay on the positive side of the game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India now leads the two-match series 1-0. The second Test will begin on October 10 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
