In a recent interview with News24, Rinku Singh opened up about the viral videos that showed him chasing Virat Kohli for bats, saying they led to unnecessary defamation.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMain thoda zyada badnaam ho gaya tha bat ke chakkar mein (I became infamous because of the bat). I used to meet him (Kohli) normally and then ask for a bat. The cameraman would follow me. It wasn\u2019t being perceived well. It wasn\u2019t good for me or bhaiya (Kohli) as the bat videos were going viral,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rinku Singh clarified that he did not chase Kohli for bats in IPL 2025, but did manage to get bats from MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t seen with Virat bhai this time (IPL 2025). But I did get Mahi bhai\u2019s bat and Rohit bhai\u2019s bat. It\u2019s a big deal for me to get bats from such players. I have also given a lot of bats myself\u2014those who need them can get them, but I don\u2019t give bats to players who have contracts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the field, Rinku Singh was a key contributor to KKR\u2019s IPL 2024 title-winning campaign, scoring 168 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 148.37. He continued his strong form in IPL 2025, accumulating 206 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 153.73.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
