In an interview with The Guardian, Chris Woakes revealed that Shubman Gill praised him for his courageous performance during The Oval test<\/a>. Woakes also shared that Rishabh Pant sent him a supportive voice note wishing him a smooth recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShubman said something like, \u2018That was incredibly brave.\u2019 I replied, \u2018You\u2019ve had an unbelievable series, well played, and credit to your team,\u2019\u201d Chris Woakes recounted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued, \u201cI noticed Rishabh posted a picture of me on Instagram with a salute emoji, so I thanked him, saying, \u2018Appreciate the love and hope the foot is OK.\u2019 He then sent me a voice note saying, \u2018I hope all is OK, good luck with the recovery, and I hope we meet again out there some day.\u2019 Of course, I apologized for the broken foot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pant had sustained a foot injury in the fourth test at Old Trafford<\/a>, Manchester, after being struck on the shoe by Chris Woakes yorker in the first innings. Although he left the field immediately, Pant returned to bat the next day and scored a half-century. Unfortunately, he was ruled out of the fifth test due to the injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five-match test series between England and India concluded in a 2-2 draw. England secured wins in the first and third tests by five wickets and 22 runs, respectively, while India triumphed in the second and fifth tests by 336 runs and six runs. The fourth test ended in a draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
