\u201cThere wasn\u2019t a single person who doubted his talent,\u201d Ravi Shastri said. \u201cWhat frustrated people was that despite his ability, he wasn\u2019t performing consistently. But in this series, we\u2019re witnessing the best version of Rahul.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravi Shastri explained, \u201cHe\u2019s made a subtle adjustment with his front foot and stance, especially while defending. He\u2019s opening up slightly, which allows his back to come through more cleanly. Even when he plays shots towards mid-wicket, he\u2019s using the full face of the bat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, \u201cHe no longer needs to close the bat face and fall over, which used to cause problems for him. Earlier, he would get out leg before wicket or bowled because he was overreaching and losing balance. Those issues have reduced now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, India is preparing for the fourth Test of the series against England, starting July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. England currently leads the five-match series 2-1, having won the third Test at Lord\u2019s by 22 runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravi Shastri, India will be looking to bounce back in the fourth Test, needing a win to keep their hopes of winning the series alive. Historically, India has never won a Test match<\/a> in Manchester; out of nine Tests played there, England has won four and five ended in draws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
