Harry Brook has been handed a two-year ban from the IPL after withdrawing from the 2025 season. <\/a>England’s white-ball captain, Harry Brook, has opened up about his decision to skip the Indian Premier League (IPL) and shared his hopes of returning to the tournament in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harry Brook was acquired by the Delhi Capitals (DC)<\/a> for INR 6.25 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, he opted out of the tournament just before it started, prioritising his national duties with England. This move violated a new BCCI regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a rule introduced by the BCCI in September 2024\u2014effective from the 2025 season\u2014any player who pulls out after being bought at the auction is subject to an automatic two-season suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After serving a two-year suspension, England batter Harry Brook has expressed his desire to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the future, although he opted out of the 2025 season<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was an incredibly difficult decision. The IPL is an amazing tournament. It\u2019s high-quality cricket with the best players in the world. The crowds, the atmosphere\u2014it\u2019s unbelievable. It\u2019s the best franchise tournament in the world. I definitely want to be a part of it again someday, but for now, my focus is fully on representing England,\u201d Brook told the Times of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harry Brook is currently a part of England\u2019s Test squad in the ongoing series against India. In the first Test, he made a crucial contribution by scoring 99 runs in the first innings, narrowly missing out on a century but playing a key role in England\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also lauded Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant for his stellar performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pant recently made history by becoming the first Indian wicket-keeper batter\u2014and only the second overall\u2014to score twin centuries in a single Test match at Leeds. He notched up scores of 134 and 118, though his efforts weren\u2019t enough to secure a win, as England chased down a target of 371 runs to win the match by five wickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
