The IPL 2025 final is currently underway between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For RCB, Virat Kohli <\/a>and Phil Salt opened the innings, with no changes made to the playing XI. Salt struggled with the bat and was dismissed early after scoring 16 runs. RCB also lost their No. 3 batsman Mayank Agarwal, who made 24, and captain Rajat Patidar, who scored 26, by the 11th over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson took two important wickets, those of Salt and Patidar, while spinner Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Agarwal. Meanwhile, opener Kohli showed patience and helped keep the scoreboard ticking early on. He was eventually dismissed in the 15th over after scoring 43 runs off 35 balls. In the IPL 2025 final, Virat Kohli reached a new milestone by hitting the most fours in the league\u2019s history. The right-handed batsman surpassed Shikhar Dhawan\u2019s previous record of 768 fours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Dhawan achieved this in 221 innings, Kohli has now set the record in his 259th IPL innings. Following them, the next three players with the most fours in IPL history are David Warner, Rohit Sharma, and Ajinkya Rahane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
